America's Got Talent Weekly Review: Ep 3--Quarter Finals of Cheesiness Part 3---Even More Acts

Okay, like the title implies, a lot more acts got the chance to show America why they need to stay on and make a name for themselves. Only five acts got through to the Semifinals. So let's check out who impressed and who sucked:


Next up, Dragon House “The Agents”. I really wasn’t impressed with their act of Hip-Hop dancing. At first, I didn’t know if it was dancing, robotic acrobats or something seen in a Justin Bieber music video. Those hand movements they did remind me of the video for Madonna’s “Vogue”...and they were more like “Vague” to me. These guys weren’t bad, but really not a true Million-Dollar act. Plus, their name feels like the name of a Chinese indie-rock band and the name of their second album.


Later on, Anna Clendening, yet another singer, sang Christina Perri’s “Human”. Wow, she was really good. She had a wonderful and soothing voice that can make me sleep (in a good way, of course). Probably better in some parts than Christina herself. And I also loved the setting behind her.
(I think Emily West might have some competition in the singing department. Yeah, she’ll win it out, but still.)


After the 3-Minute stage change, Cornell Bhangra. This Bollywood-like act made their debut after a contest by the network’s Today morning show, in which viewers choose another act to make it to the AGT stage. I loved their dancing, which is called Bhangra. From start to finish. The colors, the moves, the flair, the music and the excitement! It was just all over the place. Immediately, these guys are my Favorite Act of the Week.


Next, Kieran and Finian Makepeace, a Band that sang "Lights" by Ellie Goulding. I love this song, but this one is mixed. Their rendition sounds very folk-like, which sounds wonderful. I didn't like the part where one of them picks up the guitar and plays it. So


Mike Super is a Mystifier. I didn’t like him; his act was kinda dull to me.

Adrian Romoff is a child pianist, who performed the classic and ever-so-played-over-and-over “Chopsticks”. I can’t criticize a child, because I don’t want people to hate me more they already do. It was really good, but this child doesn’t seem Millon-Dollar material.


Later on, AcroArmy, an acrobatics and dancing act. I really enjoyed their cortortions, which were seriously magical. But the dancing was mixed. I really enjoyed this one.


Wendy Liebman is up next. She is a comedian (Ugh). But don’t worry! She’s really funny. She mentions stealing money and . Far and away, she is way funnier than the male comedians that appeared this season. So funnier, that even the least funniest joke was still funnier than the strongest joke of the male one. She should go through.


Sons of Serendip, a band consisting of nothing electronic, performed a stirring rendition of “Wicked Game” by Lana Del Rey. Boy, was it stirring. The voice of the frontman really meshed well with the instruments and everything just sounded amazing.


After that, Blue Journey, one of those acts that use a screen to match movement with animation and stuff. They did a set that involves being on the floor, walking a
I wasn’t very impressed with this one. It was kinda dull. Their dancing was really good; in fact, take away the animation interaction concept and there’d be a better improvement. Just say the animation is a background and Not much would change.


Next, Christian Stoinev. He’s a hand balancing act from . I LOVE these acts; their skill, agility, and talent is always breathtaking and spectacular. This one is no exception. And much more exciting. Chris here uses blocks to hold onto!! He’s also an animal act; with his dog Scooby, he takes the excitement up a notch. He then takes Scooby with him to the balancers, and puts him on his BACK and then his SHOES!! and balances himself. That cannot be not cool.


And finally, yet another singer, Paul Ieti. He sang “You & I” (not by Lady Laga, but) by One Direction. This guy has a low, quiet, soothing voice, and it sounds really nice. It almost sounds like he could be a member of the band itself.

(It's a shame Wendy did not go through. She was the way better comedian this season. The judges better make her a Wild Card)
