On a bittersweet note here, 20 years ago on March 31, 1995, the world lost a huge talent in the world of Tejano and popular music. Her name was Selena Quintanilla-Perez, also known as Selena. Her shocking, tragic and untimely death at the young age of 24 still rocks the world and breaks the harts of her many fans.
On the day of the passing, daytime talk show The Real dedicated a show to her, her music, and her legacy. Her sister Suzette Quintanilla appeared to talk about her music and legacy and what it meant to her family now as it did back then. She also discusses how her music and career has stood strong and inspired generations after her passing.
At the end of the episode, co-host Adrienne Bailon, who is a wonderful performer herself (she was a member of 3LW and The Cheetah Gils), performed one of Selena's iconic songs "I Could Fall in Love". She does a really beautiful rendition. It made me tear up.
